Located at 98th m. on sea level, is situated on a plateau in the foothills of the Iberian domain, between the Sierra de Pina de Montalgrao and the Sierra de Javalambre. Bordering Aragon, its origins are distant in time as evidenced by the remains of Roman and Iberian settlements existing in the term. Its important geographical location, terrain, halfway between the cities of Teruel, Castellón and Valencia, has determined the location of the urban core than in the past the Roman roads passed Sagunto – Calatayud and the branch at Liria, later the Royal road Aragon -Valencia and now the National Highway 234 Sagunto – Burgos and the railway line Valencia – Zaragoza.

The distance to the capital of the province is 87km. Its population density is 4.6. Belongs to the province of Castellon de Viver judicial district and bishopric of Segorbe.

Climate:
Mediterranean Continental absolute maximum of 21 º C in the months of July and August minimum temperatures 3rd in the months of December January. Average annual temperature is 11 º C. Cierzo winds predominate in winter (cold weather with low temperatures and snowfall) and Levante in the summer that brings the rains. It is endowed with excellent natural sources of water as the cubical, Martin Lopez, La Canada, San Pedro ….

Holidays:
The first Sunday of May is celebrated the Sunday of the Rose who organize and star in the Clavariesas of the Divine Shepherdess with acts like the fires where meats are roasted on earth, the «awakening», and the procession.
 
On June 29 in honor of San Pedro are held parties at which highlights careers that involve both young children and adults, the City encouraged to participate (before the «bitches» that were bought were sugar balls). Festivities in honor of St. ‘Roque on August 15, highlights the processional movement of the Virgin to the Hermitage of San Roque. Places of Interest:

Deserve special mention the facades of the houses in the end of Calle Teruel for its stones and windows and doorways at the end of the village next to the cemetery a vaulted arch of an ancient settlement.

In the vicinity of the shrine town of San Roque highlight his porch is well worth a visit.

A few meters from the Municipal Sports Center is a long walk with large poplars on both sides. All these natural areas in the winter with falling snow get a beautiful white mantle that allows obtaining more appropriate photographs elsewhere.
