The fascinating history of Bernadotte

On a recent trip to Pau (France) gave a modest museum that shows how a normal man could reach the top. Today we tell a story that would be a legend if it were not, however incredible it may seem, is true.

It all starts on January 26, 1763 when the current number 8 Tran Street in the city of Pau (France) Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte was born. In 1780, after the death of his father, he enlisted in the army. Not being of noble origin military career seemed to have a short run and that given his condition could never be official. (más…)

Its size, scale, all the while on the highway make for many Los Angeles adopted only a pleasure. But that happens when visiting the center. Similar to New York in its density and mixture, the middle, broke a long time, has become an accessible and friendly destination for tourists in recent years. Travel to the municipality of Frigiliana – “The Jewel of Axarquia”.

Most visitors to the Costa del Sol, stay on the western side of the coast with the famous towns of Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola and Marbella. However, east of Malaga to the area known as the Axarquia, well worth the effort. The best known resource on this side of the coast is Nerja, but if you travel a few miles inland Frigiliana is reached, the undisputed jewel of the area.

What to do in Riviera Maya?

The Riviera Maya is a stunning area of Mexico at nature but full of hotels put in good weather, Caribbean beaches, jungle and Mayan ruins. The concept of the Riviera Maya was created in the seventies and eighties in the region of Quintana Roo that goes from Cancun and Playa del Carmen to Tulum. Building on Highway 307 that is parallel to the coast, with endless Caribbean beaches and good weather large resort hotels were built for tourists, mainly Americans and Europeans.

Hotels with all inclusive:

Most packages sold by travel agencies to the Riviera Maya, are trips to hotels with “everything” including, where the first thing they do upon check-in is to get a wristband so you can go by the hotel and eating it you like. Many of the hotels are in the midst of jungles interesting; for example, saw all kinds of animals in the hotel where we stayed. (más…)

Nantes and monsters dreamed up by Jules Verne

In the former shipyards of Nantes, presents a majestic elephant walk 12 meters parsimoniously by the banks of the Loire River, a huge sea monsters emerging from a renovated units and a huge port hanging gardens begin to sprout. They are mechanical structures that seem to have escaped from a book by Jules Verne, Nantes illustrious son of inspiration and driving force of the Machines de l’Ile, a unique cultural space extending the tourist attractions this placid town gala.

Port of its glorious past as the axis of the triangular trade between mainland France, Africa and the Caribbean, just nothing left after the construction of a large modern port in Saint Nazaire at the mouth of river. Only the Titan crane, which was declared cultural heritage, stunning and striking survives with its intense yellow color in the Isle of Nantes, where it went and entered the ocean vessels that fed the early childhood fantasies of Jules Verne. Bjarke Ingels buildings in Copenhagen

One of the things I wanted to do during my visit to Copenhagen was to visit the buildings about Bjarke Ingels in the capital of Denmark. For those who do not know Bjarke Ingels is a Danish architect, who leads the group of architects BIG, and has become famous for their innovative buildings. One of the most popular was the Denmark Pavilion for Shanghai Expo 2010 with the Little Mermaid in Copenhagen as the star of the pavilion.

In Copenhagen, Bjarke Ingels and has designed three new buildings in the neighborhood of Orestes. This neighborhood on the outskirts of Copenhagen must become a new residential district with a campus university, offices of large companies and shopping centers. Although today there is not much activity, the new Copenhagen Metro goes to that area so that it can visit. That’s where Bjarke Ingels has built two buildings and the third is ending. (más…)
