The El Reconco naturalist association and the Biar Hiking Centre have creafed two new botanical frails through the Sierra del Reconco and the Sierra del Fraile mountain ranges, offering naturalists a great variety of endemic Mediterranean flora.

The botanical trail through the unusual Sierra del Fraile, which has been created by the El Reconco naturalist association, offers hikers three different routes of varying lengths: a 2km trail, a 5 km trail and, the most difficult, a 7 km trail.  The shortest route is signposted in green and has been created for mainly educational purposes. The 5 km trail is signposted in blue and aimed at adult hikers with some previous hiking experience, while the 7 km frail is signposted in red and suitable only for the more expert hikers.
The botanical walk through El Reconco, created by the Biar Hiking Centre, is a shorter trail, barely 2 km long, but reaches an altitude of 1,180 metres above sea level.
One of the most interesting features of these 2 routes is the great variety of endemic species that visitors will discover along the way many of which have been catalogued as exclusive to the Mediterranean area.
