Beaches in Puerto Escondido:
Puerto Escondido has three beaches, Playa Zicatela which is a long beach with magnificent waves breaking against the sand. Many experienced surfers come to this beach to be fitted to your table and make waves. It is suggested that no swimmer is not experienced in these turbulent waters of the Pacific, as it is a very dangerous beach and every year people die on this beach.

The most remote beach in Puerto Escondido, is the beach Carrizalillo, this is an awesome creek that is easily accessible down a flight of stairs from the Hotel Villa Carrizalillo (which is a highly recommended accommodation for rent) or walk a little further into an area a little more wild. On this beach there are too many waves, but being away from the center of Puerto Escondido is quiet and can be more calm surf on the beach Zicatela. There are children in the village for a few dollars can make you a surf lesson and rent an hour the plate.

For a break from the trip can go eat in one of the pizzerias that are in Puerto Escondido, near the Zicatela beach, where you can taste a good pizza, the restaurant however there are some places that do not have air conditioning and abundant heat (make sure ventilation before entering.)
As a way of anecdote in 1992 the film was shot Puerto Escondido, in which an Italian citizen escaped to Puerto Escondido to protect against the mafia. The film shot to fame this town in Oaxaca, and since then many Italians visit.
You can enjoy a good seafood and bars are usually found on the main street of the city. There are also markets with tourist souvenirs and jewelry with precious stones in the center of the city
Getting to Puerto Escondido?
Two hours by bus from Huatulco, this is currently one of the cities favorite for Mexicans to go to the beach, is one of the best ways to get on a plane near Puerto Escondido from Mexico City. Alternatively, you can reach by bus from Oaxaca to where you take a journey of 300 km, although it should be traversing across the mountains and the road is very heavy and too many curves. You can also get from Acapulco. We recommend any of the alternatives are chosen comfortable buses.
Traveling from San Cristobal to Puerto Escondido by bus takes about 14-15 hours to reach the destination.
Bon voyage!
