Tours:

The route starts in the medieval town of Bern to see one of the greatest prides of the local: the famous Clock Tower, once the first gateway to Bern. To do nothing is better than using the (medicine Swiss) punctual and arrive just before the hour if you want to see moving figures on a clock that maintains the same mechanism since 1530. In fact, this is where tourists gather. The clock can go inside in small groups of 20.

The winery, Bern:

From there the route continues to the source of the Ogre, the Kornhausplatz, surrounded by terraces and cafes. But there is a place very close even more tempting: Kornhauskeller restaurant, which was in the eighteenth century barn and a huge bar Bern where it was stored wine. The Kornhauskeller is one of the largest venues in Switzerland. It is worth entering for dinner (the restaurant is a bit expensive) or have a drink in the wine cellar and enjoy this for a stunning vault us back into the past.
Shopping trip:

We return to the Clock Tower and headed for the street Kramgasse to walk the famous Lauben (six kilometers of arcades of stone) extending from Spitalgasse and become one of the longest shopping promenades in Europe. There are antique shops, jewelry stores, bookstores and boutiques, sheltered from the rigors of winter. And surprises are in store as the floral arrangements from the street number 60, the Blumenflair. Among its highlights, its pie-shaped flowers, so well imitated that feel like mouthing.

On this street is almost the essence of Bern. In the basements of both sides of the street still retain the ancient holds of drinkers who brought fame to the Bernese and today many of them have been converted into shops, wine bars, cafes and even theaters. This street also had an illustrious neighbor. Albert Einstein developed his theory of relativity in the second floor of number 49. The house can be visited and the entry costs four euros (three for children). Since Einstein’s house the route crosses some sort of passage until you reach the street and gets closer Münstergasse towards the river Aare. Should stop at the plaza Münsterplatz to see the facade of the cathedral.

Panoramic View of Bern:

The best views of Bern enjoyed the platform of the cathedral. But if you have fear of heights the alternative is right next door at the park that surrounds the cathedral. It is a good place to stop and admire the views while resting. In addition, the park is a kiosk with newspapers and toys for children free. An elevator connects the park with Matt, the old quarter of the guilds, whose homes are situated on the banks of river.

The modern face of Berne:

Those who think that Bern is just on the edge of medieval town. Although life goes quietly through the streets and sometimes their environment more reminiscent of a small provincial town to a bustling capital, Bern also shows its most urban and modern.

The route to see this more modern face of the city starts at the Zentrum Paul Klee, Bern pays homage to the artist that most universal born in their city, but strangely never received Swiss citizenship. The impressive building, Renzo Piano, with three huge waves of steel and glass, holds the largest collection of Klee. Buses 12 and 10 and tram number 5 come to the museum.

Lovers of architecture and shopping are all one in the Wetside, a shopping and entertainment center with water park included and which was designed by Daniel Libeskind. Opened in 2008, the Wetside is meant to be, next to the Zentrum Paul Klee, the hallmark of the most cosmopolitan Bern.

One of the hippest bars in Bern is the Schwellenmätteli restaurant on the banks of the river Aare. Their dining room is glass, so if time allows dining on the terrace, you can also enjoy views of the river and the cathedral lit. Served from Mediterranean cuisine (the gazpacho, for example) to taste traditional Swiss dishes. It’s a bit expensive, but worth the atmosphere and enjoy the views.
