The mystery of the construction of the pyramids of Egypt

The pyramids of Egypt have fascinated humans for many centuries. At some point in history, long before the advent of Christ, he lost all knowledge of when built, who were the builders and the role they had, certainly surpassing the simple memorial. This information has been recovering with great patience and effort from the nineteenth century, but even today there is much to discover.

The first large-scale buildings in ancient Egypt have been dated at 2,686 BC, during the reign of Pharaoh Khasekhemuwy (2709-2682). Pharaoh of Dynasty II was buried in Abydos, and important temples built brick in Hierakonpolis, a place where they wanted to see the origin of the great Egyptian stone buildings. On the other hand creates the first royal statues, as well as the first tile that identified the owner of the tombs, source of backdoors.

With the advent of the Third Dynasty began the so-called Old Kingdom. A period of such importance that undoubtedly marked in much the hallmarks of later Egypt. The third king of this dynasty, dyes, was one of the most prominent rulers of ancient Egypt, and was fortunate to count among their subjects with the presence of one of the most important geniuses of the ancient world: Imhotep.

Imhotep also treasurer and a priest, was a noted physician and exceptional architect, with whom he was due the idea of building the memorial stone for his master in what was to be the necropolis of Memphis, Saqqara. A building which, although devised with a single plant, and then secure the different religious ideas that were taking place, went on to become a building which had phased designed to facilitate the ascent of the spirit of the dead king to the other world, with momentous consequences, and for all so familiar: the birth of the pyramids.

Imhotep perhaps gained access to letters and secret instructions from a very old and unfortunately previously unknown civilization. These instructions were taught to the Egyptians from the overnight build polished stone, with a technique called stalls. A chair is a carved stone for several of their faces, usually in the form of parallelepipeds. The blocks typically have a size and weight requiring handling by machines, unlike the rough stones, which, as its name suggests, are made by hand.

The only structure we know for sure it was built by Imhotep Dyeser Pyramid at Saqqara. 121 x 109 meters with a height of 60 meters. As mentioned, Imhotep was later revered as the greatest architect, physicist, scientist and magician in the history of Egypt. His tomb has not yet been found, but presumably not be far away from that of Dyeser in Saqqara. If one day is finally located, may give us many answers to the great mystery of the origins of Egyptian science.

Dyeser the pyramid to build the Great Pyramid of Giza (also known as Cheops), only passed 79, and as mentioned, was passed to build small adobe structures to build the most famous building of the History of Mankind . The Pyramid of Giza was the tallest structure built by humans for 3,800 years, and the precision with which it was built has only been equaled in the twentieth century of our era.

Therefore, one of the great mysteries of humanity still know how in such a short period of time could achieve such technological progress, building a pyramid in size, alignment and accuracy far exceeds even today, any other construction man.

With a size of 146.61 m high, with 230 of sides, is the world’s largest pyramid. Think of the faces are perfectly aligned with the four cardinal points (there is hardly a deviation of 3 minutes with respect to true north), and have a maximum difference of 58 mm in length. In addition, the base of the pyramid is completely horizontal, with a maximum deviation of 15 mm. These data complement the more than 2,400,000 blocks of stone used in its construction (some weighing 60 tons) and the estimated labor force that the great Greek historian Herodotus estimated that its construction took when he visited back in the 450 c: Among 100,000 workers for 20 consecutive years.

All these data even more impressive when you consider that the Egyptians did not know the use of pulleys, iron tools and do not use the wheel in their buildings. The stones of granite, just the heaviest among the employed, had to move from 800 km. south of the pyramid site in Aswan.

The degree of precision so extreme that the whole structure was dimensioned, and which joined the block of stone (which stop just a knife between your joints) and perfect alignment with the axis of the Earth and star, remains one of the major mysteries in the history of mankind.

About how it was built, has been a discussed and throwing theory for centuries without reaching any conclusive results. The latter theory, and perhaps final, provided us in 2007 the French architect Jean-Pierre Houdin. According to this theory, two ramps were used to transport the huge blocks of stone: one exterior, which served to raise the first 65-meter pyramid, and an indoor coil that was built in parallel and was used to finish construction of the remaining of the pyramid, and then dismantled in part to stop the construction closing.

As mentioned earlier, another of the great mysteries about the construction of the pyramids is how in 79 years could reach such a technological progression, and why after the landmark building of the pyramid of Giza, which followed and were never able to match it or in size or accuracy, and in fact were progressively smaller and more and more mediocre finishes and inaccurate. The mysterious technology that allowed the construction of the pyramids and so lightning appeared, it vanished the same way.
