The town of Potes, capital of the small town, is located in the center of the Liébana where it joins the river Deva and Quiviesa. Surrounded by spectacular scenery and situated at the confluence of four valleys of the Shire, the town at every turn reveals its rich history. Bowls is known as the town of bridges (hence the name) and of the towers. In particular highlight the Infantado (now the headquarters of the council) and the Orejón de la Lama, both of the fifteenth century.

The set of neighborhoods of the old popular retains great flavor and charm, its narrow streets and houses (most with escutcheons) help the visitor to imagine the past full of history. Undoubtedly one of the most important aspects of Potts and the whole region is the gastronomic. The villa has a good number of restaurants of all styles and categories in which you can taste a variety of dishes. The cooked lebaniego is one of its culinary stars, based on chickpeas typical of the area (small and tender), beef jerky or beef, cabbage and stuffing. Artisan cheeses are one of the feats of the area along with homemade desserts like Frisuelos, rice pudding, and the usual canons of Potts sequillos. Deserve special mention and featured the famous handmade liquors, Marc and tostadillo.

The festivities in the town are present all year in which celebrate their patron saint by St. Vincent Martyr, on 22 January. On August 15 celebrates the Virgin of Valmayor, but the most popular festivals rooted in the village are those of the Holy Cross on 14 September and the days ahead. Marc Festival, held annually in October in order to promote a product that is manufactured in alquitara with the harvest of the many vineyards in the area.

As for places to visit are: Infantado Tower, which is the most symbolic building Bowls, and one of the highlights of Cantabria, is part of City Hall. It is a tower house of the fifteenth century. It is topped by four corner towers. It is the focus of anyone who visits Potes. Churches in San Vicente, Potes Advocado to retain two churches worth visiting San Vicente that interesting to watch their baroque altarpieces, mostly from the old convent of San Raimundo. The former convent of San Raimundo, a seventeenth-century Dominican convent, from which also houses an exhibition on Liebana and Picos de Europa which is an approach to the unique region and its peculiar lebaniega ethnography. Very important is to remember the delicious and rich cuisine lebaniega, whose products we can muster in the market Monday.

Monastery of Santo Toribio de Liebana, is located just 2 km from Potes where there is another vital stop, located in the municipality of Camaleño. This is the Monastery of Santo Toribio de Liebana, founded around the sixth century. The interior houses the Lignum Crucis (the largest preserved fragment of the Cross of Christ) in the chapel built in the eighteenth century and whose relics can be seen.
