The Hague, the administrative capital of the Netherlands, is a city of noble appearance with a good number of fine art galleries and antique shops that give you an elegant and quaint touch worth seeing and enjoying. Located 55 kilometers southwest of the capital of Holland, this city is called «Royal City», because since the year 1248 King William II decided to settle in it, all members of the royal family have made this City resident.

Binmenhog Palace, built around the castle in the twelfth century, command the King William II Building is located in the heart of the city and next to it, several government buildings in the nation that also has his residence here. In the city center are also home to numerous embassies, as well as various international organizations such as the International Court of Justice or the Academy of International Law, Supreme Court of the Netherlands. But for those who visit The Hague for pleasure, surely, what more you draw attention is the majesty of the vast majority of its institutional buildings and royal palaces.

One place that will no doubt surprise the traveler is Binmenhof, specifically the Hall of Knights, where the opening ceremony of the Parliament by the Queen. In this room you can see a permanent exhibition on the Dutch Constitution through guided tours that are offered and by which you can enjoy views of the surroundings of the palace, which if something is characterized by its picturesque character.

A city of gardens, streets and museums
Holland is the land of tulips, which also can be seen in The Hague. The gardens are truly natural works, being the color of their great variety of flowers that provides the look so adorable in this city, the third largest in the Netherlands. In terms of its avenues, most notably the so-called Lange Voorhout, formed by a large and elegant mansions Arboleda on one side and another, for example, Pulchri mansion that has housed the company’s most important art of the nineteenth century Church and the cloister, one of the oldest in the city.

The Hague also has a great variety of museums. Some of them are about topics that hardly can be found in other museums in the world. For example, the Rijksmuseum Gevangenpoort Museum of Torture or the more obscure shows that mankind has offered for centuries, the Historical Museum of The Hague of data of the seventeenth century and it hosts more than seven centuries of history through their artwork, the Bredius Museum, a beautiful eighteenth century mansion, houses works by painters such as Rembrandt stakes, or Van der Neer Van Ostad, and the Museum Van Het boek Museum of Books and Manuscripts and welcomes Egyptian antiquities, Greek and Roman.

Madurodam, a miniature Dutch city
Madurodam is the smallest city but at the same time, the largest in the world. Holland Madurodam whole is reconstructed on a scale of 1:25 with respect to its natural size. This is a real city, with medieval centers, churches, mills, canals, banks, offices, factories … Trains run, sail boats, and it all off, when the sun lights are lit 50.000. It is, in short, a small city within another: The Hague.

But The Hague also has other attractions: the Duinrell Amusement Park, a theme park with lots of attractions, Omniversum, exhibiting films about the man at the top of the planetarium, or the Sea Life Scheveningen ideal to discover the underwater world. It feels like visiting the inside of the Ocean, therefore has a transparent tunnel through which you can walk and is in the center of a tank containing more than 180,000 liters of seawater in which roam a wide variety of animals marine.

«The Royal City», is also beautiful beaches. In this regard, and highlight Kijkduin Scheveningen, two fishing villages surrounded by a sandy beach 25 km. Dunes are held in a large number of activities, both by day and by night. These include the International Festival of Sand Sculpture, held in July and will make original and beautiful buildings on the most diverse. Of course, a spectacle that visitor should not miss if you come to The Hague.
