Imperial city of Hue in reconstruction:

Thien Mu Pagoda, Hue is another very interesting place to be visited Hue, but a little away from the center of Hue (about 3km). It is one of the highest pagodas in Vietnam and as a curiosity we can find a car of the 60 Austin from where the famous monk Thich Quang Duc got out to immediately commit suicide in protest to the new government of Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh) . The images of his immolation toured the world. To reach the Pagoda we took a taxi, but can be easily reached by bicycle or tuk-tuk, if not too hot.

Another place you should also visit in Hue are the tombs of the emperors and the dynasties of Minh Mang, Khai Dinh and Tu Duc and other less important dynasties.

How to get to Hue?

The nearest airport is to Danang. You can book a flight to the carrier JetStar, which is a low-cost airline in Southeast Asia. However, the flight is over 5 hours late, so you can choose to fly on Vietnam Airlines which has a cost of 40 € per person. At the airport of Hue, a bus to downtown is worth 40,000 VND, and a taxi at least about three times that price.
