Paraguay, the country’s heroic chaco

In 1516, a Spanish conquistador named Alejo García was shipwrecked off the coast of what is now Santa Catarina. There were days when the Indians guaraníes field to ease in southern Brazil, Paraguay and Bolivia. Garcia lived for eight years with the Indians and came to know the fantastic network of roads that had guaraníes tissue in the heart of South America.
Those trails, marked by hills, rivers and waterfalls, were aimed at finding the Earth without evil, a mythical place in which human beings could live in complete happiness. (más…)
