Alausí and the Devil’s Nose in Ecuador

Alausí is a small town in the upper rail of the famous Nariz del Diablo (Devil’s Nose ). The city is guarded by an enormous statue of San Pedro. Here you can see attractive old houses; some still are the original buildings of adobe, on a line of steep streets. The best months to visit Alausí son from June to December, as the rainy season covers the black clouds, and the views are declining. (más…)

The Baños of Agua Santa has a temperate climate with an average of 18 º C, and is at an altitude of 1820 meters. on the flanks of the volcano Tungurahua.

Bath is also known as “The Door of Gold” and offers many attractions: you can relax in thermal pools, visit the Basilica de la Reina del Rosario de Agua Santa, you can visit different waterfalls, one can climb the volcano Tungurahua, one can prove the Melcocha (sweet honey from sugar cane), there are varieties of craft balsa and tagua.

San Francisco de Quito is the capital of the Republic and the capital of the Pichincha Province.

Quito has 1’700 000 inhabitants.

History: Quito was founded on August 15 of 1534 by Diego de Almagro, the Act was signed on August 28 the same year.

On August 10 of 1809 gives the Independence of Ecuador.

Battle of Pichincha was fought on 24 May 1822 and 25 June 1824 the province of Pichincha was created.

Historic Center of Quito: Also known as “Shrine of Art in America.” The Historic Center of Quito is a World Heritage Site and has several attractions.
