Copenhagen Restaurants

Viernes, septiembre 16th, 2011

My experience told me that in the Nordic countries is very difficult to eat well at a good price. The price is almost inevitable if you go to a restaurant because you have to adapt to the standards of the country where you are traveling, but the quality is debatable. And I must admit that I ate very well in Copenhagen. I always like that behind places I visit have stories that give meaning to the place and many of the restaurants we visited and we ate had a story behind it.

The route leads to Sicily after this corner of Italy, which we detail below to get an idea of our route of travel to this destination.

The route leads to Sicily

Routes to consider:

Trapani:

Sicily has three main airports: the Palermo in the north, Catania in the east and finally the smallest and most modest of the three in the west, the Trapani. RyanAir is based on the latter, and that’s where we can fly (and back). Trapani is a quiet coastal town settled in one of the few plains of the island, and is bounded on the south by an extensive area of Salinaro belonging to the town of Marsala. (más…)

The Puquios in Mendoza

Lunes, septiembre 12th, 2011

Hidden in the snow, 180 km from the city of Mendoza and just 5 of the Penitentes ski resort, a perlite has been growing over the past five years. The Puquios, the first snow park in the province, we are invited to ski with very affordable rates and adding other options such as ice skating outdoors, bike rides, snowshoeing, sledding and tubbing.

There are no chairs or LF huge promotion. Just three lifts that lead to different tracks and altitudes in the mountains, but offer a wide choice bounded to beginners and intermediate skiers. The protagonists here are families with children who come and go with inexperienced young skiers. Traditionally, about 4500 people passed through The Puquios each season. This year, after a sustained investment, its leaders expect about 25,000 visitors. (más…)

Buddhism in the West: fashion or tradition?

Domingo, septiembre 11th, 2011

It is a question that probably all Westerners have ever raised: what is between the border that separates the spiritual life of East and West. In today’s society, the prevailing stress and hurry, the individual seeks an attractive, comfortable and subtle to escape in search of peace, relaxation and tranquility. A personality, the Dalai Lama (their twitter @ dalailama is one of the most followed in the blogosphere, with more than two million supporters and 56,000 lists), and a region, Tibet (now mostly moved to Dharamsala in northern India to China’s occupation), embody the essence of Buddhism today worldwide.

Slovenia: Piran Summer

Sábado, septiembre 10th, 2011

Italian flavors and spirit with medieval coastal city bathing in the Adriatic Sea is like a sculpture carved by Michelangelo. On the site you can see the roofs of Slovenia. Almost like a picture perfect, the medieval walled city speaks of respect and Slovenes are the jewels of its past.

City View:

On a clear summer morning, the promenade paved the coastal town of Piran was full of bronzed men watching a lot of women topless and lying along the rocky beach. Piran, however, is not in the French Riviera, and is not a sleepy Italian village of fishermen, despite the abundance of pizzerias, Gothic churches and Venetian restaurants with names like Verdi Inn. Best beaches in Sicily: Alternative Travel in the Mediterranean

Going on a trip through Sicily in summer implies enjoy its beaches, as elsewhere in the Mediterranean that claims to be. Here, we present the beaches where you can go route for Sicily this summer. Some are clearly among the best on the island, others believe that it and explain why, so hopefully I can help you choose which beaches to visit in your future trip to Sicily.

Castellammare del Golfo beach:

Located in northwest Sicily, Castellammare del Golfo is accessible from Trapani and Palermo. The beach is huge, mass tourism, mostly Italian. The beach covers very little and the sand is very fine, warm water. It reminded me slightly to the beach of Peniscola Castellon. The atmosphere is noisy, both the amount of people there as the disco music that is heard across the beach (at least in the areas where we were). So the environment is noisy and crowded, but it is a beach where we were fine. (más…)
