Kyoto

Photography by goto_

The glimpse of a geisha walking down the street swift steps Hanami-koji is a scene not to be missed when visiting Kyoto, the mysterious ancient empire’s capital Edo (1603-1867). Refuge and stronghold of authentic Japanese tradition, they say it’s one of those cities you must travel at least once in life, like Rome, London or Paris. It seems, however, with the first impression one gets to get off the shinkansen in the futuristic train station in Kyoto, built in steel and metal, and watch the huge concrete walls of cold and gray, which, however hidden behind them all ancient magic and mystery of a city that, no doubt, after a few hours strolling through neighborhoods full of history and tradition, ends up becoming a must for knowing the true taste of Japan. Although Cardiff

Photography by Neil T

Cardiff is the capital of Wales and a relatively new city. Although its origins date back to the days when the Romans occupied Britain (first century), it was not until 1905 when it acquired city rights. Its modern development is due to the Bute family in the eighteenth century that built the docks and spent (invested) a fortune on it. This infrastructure, together with a favorable economic situation drove the growth of Cardiff through the mining and transport of goods. (más…)

Much is said about the Old City, but the truth is that all of Jerusalem is a magical city that still hides secrets, but also shows charm everywhere. For that we need to start walking also outside its walls.

The symbols of Paracas in Peru

Martes, julio 12th, 2011

There are dozens of versions of the origin of the drawings presented in Paracas, this from ancient navigators and pirates (who would have used to guide the seas), and of course, no shortage of theories about extraterrestrial beings. They speak a strange and mysterious connection between the candelabra and the most famous Nazca lines, less than 200 km.

The best known are The Monkey, Hummingbird, The Whale, The Spider and The Astronaut, although the figures recorded so far total more than 300. The New Adventures of Los Antiguos

Lunes, julio 11th, 2011

The town, known by the fruit farms, now shaken with bike tours, abseiling and kayaking outings.

The huge turquoise lake mirror Buenos Aires and especially fertile ground in this corner of Santa Cruz burst into the arid Patagonian landscape monotonous with green curtains of poplars that define the fields that produce and export fine fruit. It is the southernmost place in Argentina where you can find late harvest of cherries. It is also an ideal place to combine relaxation and adventure.

Before you know it, imagine if he was in Tanzania a flat country, desert and a few colors. There are many tourists who travel there only by the desire to climb Kilimanjaro, 5895 meters volcano that borders Kenya to the highest point in Africa.

Tanzanians are calm, cheerful and very helpful. For their warmth look Latino, but they are more respectful and calm. Still, more than 95 percent of the population is Muslim and we must be careful to dress and behave because our habits can be taken, in some cases, such an offense. One feels a fast in front of them poor, who constantly respond pole, pole … (Slowly, slowly in Swahili language) with any questions or request to the beat Western. (más…)

Tools for the traveler

Photography by Cristian Janke

There once was a time when mobile phones were used to speak. Today they are used for check-in for a flight and receive a boarding pass, to know where we parked the car, to prevent traffic jams on motorways, to find a hotel stay, a restaurant where calm our cravings or even a nearby bathroom to save an emergency. And incidentally to make or receive calls, if there is still time. (más…)
