What to see in Stockholm?

Lunes, abril 11th, 2011

Stockholm is a wonderful city to see and know, we started our little trip in the port of Helsinki to follow the path of the Baltic and visit Stockholm. To reach the capital of Sweden took the ferry. The journey takes about 16 hours on the road you will see gay tourists (mostly domestic) to take their carts with liters and liters of alcoholic beverages. The alcohol in the Scandinavian countries are burdened with taxes that many people avoid the duty free shopping on the ferries.

Something similar happens with the Helsinki-Tallinn line, a trip that Finns take to go to a “visit” must-see at the supermarket and that only lasts a couple of hours and allowed to fill the pantry. See these people leaving the ferry with their “trolleys” full of beer invited to think they have a serious problem “alcoholic” but for them to take large jugs of beer is normal. (más…)

Human beings by nature are afraid of their neighbors, and therefore he always saw the need to guard against a possible invasion or external attack. This feeling is not new, and only defensive techniques have changed over time. Petersburg and Stockholm on the same trip, but the problem with these trips is that we can see reality, we can not enjoy this jewel washed by the Baltic Sea in peace and we have to go, like a Formula 1 race they were, all the streets of the old without being able to calm down a second. What to do in Johannesburg?

Viernes, abril 1st, 2011

Johannesburg, Jozi or Jo’burg (as it is known to South Africans) is one of the most important cities in South Africa, the true economic center. However, few people know the origins of Johannesburg. This great city was born when the explorers by 1880 Boers (descendants of Dutch settlers) found a gold vein about 400km from what is now Johannesburg. Later, around 1890 more gold veins found in what today is the current city’s financial district, from that moment, the town became a city full of miners who came out with the dream of finding gold and become rich. Its name comes from the general inspector of the area, Johannes Rissik.
