Weekend in Edinburgh

Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland. One of its main advantages is that its small size allows us to visit on a weekend getaway. But surely, the visitor will want to return, dazzled by the charm of the city, where the atmosphere is midway between the medieval and nineteenth-century.

To start your visit to Edinburgh, we recommend arriving by bus or walk to Princess Street, and start from there visit the old city center.

Princess Street is one of the main streets of the city, along with its parallel, Queen Street and George Street, home to most of Edinburgh’s finest restaurants, the shops recommended and most atmospheric pubs in the city. From the esplanade of Princes Street is accessible to the National Gallery of Scotland, the Royal Scottish Academy, and Waverley train station. From here you can see Edinburgh Castle at the top of the hill, and we’ll take it as a reference because it will surely be the next stop on our tour of Edinburgh. (más…)

Discover the Roman city of Pompeii

2,000 years ago the city of Pompeii, in the Gulf of Naples (southern Italy), was being rebuilt after being hit by an earthquake. Pompeii was a Roman city where many people enjoyed their second home in the first century BC. But on August 24, 1979 AD, Vesuvius erupted and devastated by lava and ash across the area south of the Gulf of Naples, including the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum.

In the eighteenth century found the city of Pompeii was buried under meters of lava and earth, and work began to “rescue” the city of burial under which it took more than 1,500 years. Today, Pompeii is one of the biggest attractions in southern Italy, as it allows visitors to stroll the streets, visit the houses with many of the frescoes still intact, see the Roman Forum, the shops, the brothel or the gym it was a Roman town 2,000 years ago. Speaking of museums is not necessarily about adult entertainment, and a good example of this is the great Museum of Natural History in London. Opened in 1881 as such after “independence” of the British Museum, features thousands of specimens of all plant and animal species and entomological exhibition, mineralogical and paleontological. Domus Aurea – Nero’s House

The construction of the Domus Aurea (Golden House) has been considered the most extravagant enterprise throughout the history of Rome. When two thirds of the city were burnt by the great fire of 64, Emperor Nero used the “free” space to build his new palace. Built in a very short time, Nero committed suicide in AD 68 but before he could fully enjoy their stay, the huge golden dome that gave its name was just one of many bizarre elements of its decor: there was gold everywhere roof thrust with semi-precious stones and ivory auctions mosaics, precious finish, pools and fountains everywhere, an artificial lake …

Diving in Roatan – Honduras

Roatan, Utila and Guanaja with the archipelago Honduran Bay Islands. Legends of its past and pirates are just the colorful names of cities, beaches and even the most modern business. But undoubtedly the Barrier Reef one of the main attraction of this island.

Marrakech Gardens

Marrakech is undoubtedly the garden city in Morocco. The huge palm trees and is itself a garden, if we add the numerous small private gardens that give it a green touch to the city, public gardens and refreshing as the Majorelle, Menara or the La Mamounia hotel belonging to the no shortage of places where we protect ourselves from the crowds and bustle of the souks.
