Travel to the coastal town of Asilah

While such scenes have glamorous shine Asilah’s reputation as a stylish entertainment center for the elite of North Africa, not long ago this ancient fortified port suffered from social obscurity and tourism. In the 70s, mentioned only in passing, but now, Asilah’s medina has been transformed into an underground shelter for the rich and famous who hide behind the thick carved doors of their mansions, exotic vacations, to relax on the terrace electric blue with a book in hand and a cocktail in the other.

Hong Kong

Photography by Peter Shanks

Futurist and monumental, the region is one of the great financial centers of Asia, combining a regime with strong Western and ancient traditions of oriental stamp.

It is the view in the bustle of its markets, filled with imitations of watches and wallets and seafood and ducks hanging head down, always with the haggling and shopping ritual. Is visible in its colorful festivals, the Chinese New Year at the helm, but Hong Kong, certainly not China. Hundred fifty-five years of British rule (1842-1997) left their stamp on the archipelago that spreads in the Pearl River delta, on the southern coast of the Sea of China, and has no less than 260 islands (the Hong Hong is the most popular and crowded, but only the inhabited islands are ten!). Taipei 101: The imposing architectural majesty

Photo por BC Taiwan

The Taipei 101, stands out for many heads in the airspace of the city, which is not known precisely for its skyscrapers, as it is in a seismic zone. The building has some postmodern pagoda and climbs almost to the top for a “lift bullet” that rise to 45 km / h would be the fastest in the world.

At night, from the windows of the Taipei 101 looking at the spectacle of modernity at its best, a horizon of light and shadow which looms just the skeleton of an empty city and impersonal, like a ghost moving amusement park but without people. It is the image of a dead city. (más…)

Under the volcanoes, beside the glaciers, among the great lakes, the fragrant, the silent, the tangled Chilean forest. It is the vastness of the landscape of the forest, amid the Chilean Patagonian Andes. By discovering the magic of the forest and surprise with its diversity, venturing into the volcano Mocho-Choshuenco or feel the fullness of Lake Pirehueico, the choices multiply to the visitors of the nature reserve Huilo Huilo, just 45 miles from San Martin de los Andes, crossing the border with Chile. The Manitou & Pikes Peak Railway, Colorado Springs, is a railway which climbs the steep slope of a mountain 4302 meters high to the summit. With a sprocket which is mounted by a special path in the middle of the traditional ways, is the highest cog railway in the world and works since 1891.

Train travel, even in the XXI century, they retain a certain “do not know what” and a romantic air of other times. The sense of motion is pleasant, the sound of the buzzer excited and, in some cases, the journey can take a lot of adrenaline if it is the highest cog railway in the world: the Manitou & Pikes Peak. This particular railroad is located in the Pikes Peak, the most visited mountain in North America (and the second most visited in the world after Mount Fuji in Japan), 16 km west of the city of Colorado Springs, Colorado. While you can reach the summit by car or on foot (by the Barr Trail) the most striking is undoubtedly on board this train, a distance of 14 miles, climb up to 4302 meters. (más…)
