Tikal, the ancient Mayan city

Located in the region of El Peten in Guatemala, Tikal is the most famous of the ancient Mayan cities. It is known that the Maya were the best architects in the American continent. During the classical period, between 300 and 900 AD, spread over the south of the Yucatan Peninsula and the northwest of Guatemala and Honduras today, building large ceremonial centers that were then mysteriously abandoned around the year 900 Among them Tikal. Alausí and the Devil’s Nose in Ecuador

Alausí is a small town in the upper rail of the famous Nariz del Diablo (Devil’s Nose ). The city is guarded by an enormous statue of San Pedro. Here you can see attractive old houses; some still are the original buildings of adobe, on a line of steep streets. The best months to visit Alausí son from June to December, as the rainy season covers the black clouds, and the views are declining. (más…)

And in general, tend to be places that, by its root unknown perhaps increase its charm, as well as the beauty in themselves have. According to historical tradition, Havana was the last of the seven villages founded by order of Diego Velázquez. One of his deputies, Panfilo Narvaez, was founded July 25 final of 1514, known as San Cristobal de la Habana, for the saint who was being held that day. Some time later, apparently because it’s unhealthy place, some of the neighbors asked for permission to emigrate toward the north coast, where they settled Casiguaguas beside the river, now known as Almendares. Cartagena de Indias: Colonial Paradise in Colombia

Something that usually tell when one arrives in Cartagena de Indias is why the colors of the Colombian flag, the blue represents the waters that bathe their coasts, yellow symbolizes gold, and red, the blood shed for years clashes. Cartagena is the capital city of the Department of Bolivar in northern Colombia in the Colombian Caribbean region. (más…)
