Beijing, China the ancient city

Beijing is the capital of China, and is situated 110 kilometers northwest of the Gulf of Bohai in the north. The city is an autonomous municipality, despite being surrounded by Hebei Province. Its area is 16,808 km2 and is surrounded by mountains to the north and west. This is a city of great history, founded over 2000 years and remains the state capital from more than 700.
