Curitiba (Brasil)

One of the most attractive and organized cities in Brazil, Curitiba is also a world-wide model in urbanism solutions, education and environment. The population of Curitiba numbers around 1.7 million inhabitants (7th largest nationwide) and the latest GDP figures for the city surpass US$18 billion (ranking 4th nationwide) according to IBGE.

Curitiba was established in the 17th century as a gold-mining camp, became the center of the State of Paraná in 1854 and grew quickly after 1940. Its 1.6 million inhabitants are a synthesis of numerous cultures of émigrés that arrived in the city during the 19th century and early 20th century.

Lake Titicaca

Wonderful Lago Titicaca is, at an elevation of 3856 metres, Highest Navigable Lake in the World. The lake is so immense that it looks to be an interior sea. It is located in the southern Andes region, also identified Altiplano. This turquoise blue lake used to be the mainly sacred water in the Inca Empire. With a surface area of over 8000 sq. km (3100 sq. miles) it is South America’s biggest lake. In the south, Lake Titicaca creates a normal frontier with Bolivia.

According to the legend, this lake gave origin to the Inca civilisation. Before the Inca, the lake and its islands were sacred for the Aymará Indians, whose civilisation was centred at Tiahuanaco, now a complex of ruins on the Bolivian side of Titicaca but once an admired temple site with sophisticated irrigation techniques.

Visit the most fascinating places to see in Seville, the city is actually worth a visit. The weather is frequently warm and sunny and the city itself is amazing.

Seville is more than thousand years old. The way of the diverse people instrumental in its growth has left the city with a different personality, and a large and well-preserved historical centre.

The city was recognized from Roman times as Hispalis. The nearby Roman city of Italica is well-preserved and shows an impact of how Hispalis may have looked in the later Roman period. Existing Roman features in Seville contain the remnants of an aqueduct.

After consecutive conquests of the Roman province of Hispania Baetica by the Vandals and Visigoths, in the 5th and 6th centuries, the city was taken by the Moors in 712 and became an essential centre in Muslim Andalusia. It remained under Muslim control, under the power of the Umayyad, Almoravid and Almohad dynasties, until falling to Fernando III in 1248. The city preserves many Moorish features, including large sections of the city wall.

Transportation System in Spain is well developed. Spain Transportation comprises of a good network of air, road and railways which connects every place in Spain. The public transport system in Spain is very much frequent and efficient in Spain.

The railway system is an efficient and frequent part of the Spain Transportation, operated by the state. The state owns a rail company which is called Red Nacional de los Ferrocarriles Espanoles, and is popularly known as RENFE . The services and fares vary with the distance and the mode of transport chosen. There are faster railways and slower railways. The railway system of Spain is considered to be the best in whole of Europe. RENFE service is easily available in the major cities of Spain, whereas the smaller towns are served by a network of private railways. The railway network operating in the smaller towns are known as FFCC . The short distance local trains that runs through the cities in Spain are called Tranvia , more popular as Tram, which is again a part of the transportation system of Spain. (más…)
